After only two games to pay attention to yesterday the NHL is back in a big way today with 11 games on the calendar, which means lot of top and value picks to go around for you to put on your sacred daily fantasy hockey rosters. With todays list I went ahead and avoided listing Teddy Purcell and Alex Tanguay again but I still believe in their ability to be top contributing value picks tonight so be sure to keep an eye out for them. Other than that, tonights value plays are some of the best we’ve seen in a while as 4 of the 5 made their way onto our sacred NHL Chart today which means that you should very strongly consider deploying them to your roster tonight. So without further adieu lets look at the top value picks for February 21 on DraftStreet shall we?
Derek Roy – Buffalo Sabres – $9,486
Buffalo fans are left wondering where exactly Roy has been all season, but I suppose the fact that he’s showing up now is better than not showing up at all this season. The top notch center has 5 points in his last 5 games and is also riding a three game point streak at the moment which is more than enough of a reason to deploy him today given his price. If however that wasn’t enough to satisfy you lets not forget that he also has 2 goals in three games against the New York Islanders this season which speaks to the fact that he should be able to extend his point streak tonight which is exactly what his owners will be hoping for. Im not going to declare a top value pick tonight because I think all of these guys are solid, but if I did he would probably be it.
Chris Higgins – Vancouver Canucks – $9,641
Although Higgins was unable to get a point when we recommended him back on Saturday he was able to pot a goal against Edmonton on Sunday and tonight he’ll take on a team that he’s got 2 points in 2 games against this season. He’s got 3 points in 3 games so far in the month of February and given the Predators recent struggles we like him to find his way onto the score sheet again tonight. If you’re looking for a cheap but high performing LW tonight then take a good long look at Mr. Higgins.
David Desharnais – Montreal Canadiens – $9,492
Desharnais is one of those guys that you probably have heard much about as of late but the fact of the matter is that the man is on a 6 game point streak and in those six games he has managed a total of 7 points which is pretty impressive. He’s yet to play the Dallas Stars this season which means we’re unable to look back and see how he did against them earlier in the season but at the end of the day that wouldn’t stop us anyway so its really not a huge deal. My advice is that you deploy David and don’t look back tonight.
Michael Cammalleri – Calgary Flames – $8,970
The Flames have won three of their last five games and plenty of that had to do with this man, Mr. Mike Cammalleri who’s managed 4 points in those five games and is also riding a 4 game point streak going into tonights contest. Granted, he’s not played very well against the Oilers so far this season, however they are giving up 3.8 goals per game on average over their last five so we like his chances to extend that point streak tonight in a big way. DraftStreet is basically giving him away tonight given his recent production so don’t hesitate to roster him as soon as possible.
Alex Burmistrov – Winnipeg Jets – $8,497
The 20 year old Russian has 5 points in his last 5 games and is also riding a 3 game point streak into tonights contest against the Philadelphia Flyers who’ve not been able to stop anyone lately, giving up an average of 4 goals per game over their last five. Also, Alex has managed a goal and an assist in the 2 games that he’s played against them this season. All of this coupled with the fact that his price is next to nothing means that you must take him tonight if you want to be able to spend money elsewhere on the big time snipers.
