Thirteen games, twenty-six teams, and over 200 players to choose from tonight makes this our biggest Wednesday in quite some time. This will be our last value picks post until after the all star break, as the NBA only provides us with four contests tomorrow. All value pick / injury information will be posted on the NBA “News” section located on our homepage. I would also recommend taking a look today as there are several players being listed as questionable and or have already been ruled out for tonight’s games. Injuries typically open the door for top value picks, and tonight is no exception. All of today’s value picks are priced at or below $6000 on Fanduel in hopes of saving our readers some cash at various positions tonight. Before we delve into our top picks, let us take a look at what Fanduel is offering in terms of tournament variety this evening.

POINT GUARD
Isaiah Thomas – Sacramento Kings – $4900: Thomas made it four straight 20+ FD point nights on Tuesday finishing with 24 points 5 assists & 3 rebounds. Thomas recent surge in fantasy value comes from his new role as the starting PG in Sacramento. This new role may have boosted his confidence a bit as Thomas has shot 9 for 16 from beyond the arc in his last three games. He will have another chance to showcase his quickness and shooting abilities tonight against one of the league’s worst teams in the Washington Wizards.
HONORABLE MENTION: Brandon Knight – Detroit Pistons ($6000) & Jerryd Bayless – Toronto Raptors ($6000)
SHOOTING GUARD
J.J. Redick – Orlando Magic – $5400: Redick will once again get the start for Jason Richardson who is suffering from a pretty serious viral infection. He will have plenty of opportunity to put fantasy points on the board tonight because of the depleted Orlando Magic squad. Jason Richardson (Out), Quentin Richardson (Questionable), Hedo Turkoglu (Questionable) and Earl Clark (Questionable). None of the above mentioned players are expected to play tonight, which may open the door for as many minutes as Redick can handle. Another positive pointing to a big night for Redick is his match up with the New Jersey Nets, a team not known for its defensive prowess.
HONORABLE MENTION: Arron Afflalo – Denver Nuggets ($5800) / Corey Brewer – Denver Nuggets ($5600) / Daniel Gibson – Cleveland Cavaliers ($5500)
SMALL FORWARD
Gordon Hayward – Utah Jazz – $5700: If you’ve looked at his last five games you probably think I’m crazy, and I will admit I’m going out on a bit of a limb tonight with this pick, but there are a few things in Hayward’s favor tonight so hear me out. First of all Hayward will be matched up with the Minnesota Timberwolves who enjoy giving up big fantasy numbers to opposing players, especially with Luke Ridnour guarding him all night. Also, Raja Bell will miss tonight’s game for the Jazz because of an injury, as Josh Howard moves into the starting rotation. This should indirectly effect Hayward’s minutes tonight as Howard was typically a guy who was subbed in for Hayward from time to time. Like I said going out on a limb here, but I expect Hayward to play much better than he has lately.
HONORABLE MENTION: Tristan Thompson – Cleveland Cavaliers ($5100)
POWER FORWARD
Markieff Morris – Phoenix Suns – $5700: Morris has been playing consistently better basketball over his last five games and is averaging just over 22 FD points a night in just 23 minutes of court time. He has also faced tonight’s opponent the Golden State Warriors twice this season and is averaging just below 24 FD points a game. He and honorable mention Trevor Booker were a tossup tonight, consider both top value picks at the PF position tonight.
HONORABLE MENTION: Trevor Booker – Washington Wizards ($5600) & Kenneth Faried – Denver Nuggets ($4500)
CENTER
Jason Thompson – Sacramento Kings – $5600: Thompson is coming off a double double last night against the Heat in which he scored 16 points grabbed 10 rebounds and finished with 25 FD points. He has been hit or miss over his last five games, but is starting to play significant minutes having averaged over 28 minutes per game. You also have to love his matchup tonight with the Washington Wizards as you can expect there to be little to no defense played for most of the night.
HONORABLE MENTION: Greg Stiemsma – Boston Celtics ($4200)

what about Willie Green with Atlanta? I think he has the possibility of being a good value pick tonight playing in place of Marvin Williams, unless he doesn’t get the playing time like he did in his last start. What do you think?
Chris,
Willie Green is a great price at only $4800, but I’m just not sold on him as a legit option at SG tonight. He struggled last night, and his minutes have been all over the board lately. I would like to see a bit more consistency in both minutes and production before recommending him.
do you think Brook Lopez will be worth using tonight? I am asking for a DJ league I am in. He would cost me $72,000 with a roster total of 1.1m. I know he will be limited still tonight, but with Humphries out for tonight I think he might be worth his value at that price. What do you think?
To be honest with you I still think you should pass on Lopez tonight. The term limited minutes worries me, and he only put up 13 fantasy points in limited minutes two games ago. They are going to be extra cautious with him again tonight regardless of his play. I think his Max production will be 20 fantasy points at best tonight against Howard and the magic.
sorry one more for you too. What about Carlos Delfino? Seems like he has been stepping up as of late to provide decent fantasy numbers. He is right around the same price as Afflalo and C. Brewer. What are your thoughts on Delfino?
I like the way Delfino has been playing as of late, and actually he made our top value picks list a few days ago. The reason I held off today was because of his numbers against the Bulls this season. He is averaging less than 10 FD points a game against them in two meetings, however those numbers come from his 16 minutes per game average. He should see closer to 30-35 minutes tonight. So I considered him as an option well put it that way, just didn’t prefer his match up with the defensive minded Bulls.
Would Shelden Williams be a better pick up compared to Lopez? (With Humphries out)
Shelden should be the better pick up yes. He will log a majority of the minutes at Center tonight, but will absolutely have his hands full with Dwight Howard tonight. If he can stay out of foul trouble, I like him to finish close to 20 fantasy points tonight.
Would Hibbert or Noah be a better option tonight?(you could also throw Mcgee into the mix, who has only played 20-25 mins the last few games but has a good matchup against the weak rebounding Kings and it should be a competitive game.
Also I’m guessing you like Thompson over Jordan Crawford?
Hibbert and Noah are very similar in terms of fantasy production, but I think I have to give the edge to Hibbert right now. He has been much better basketball as of late, and will look to finish the first half of the season strong here before the all star break. So by a slight margin I’ll give the edge to Hibbert tonight.
And do you like the reach for the Josh Smith over Wall (and the few thousand I would save)?
By the way sorry for the late questions (and appreciate the quick response). I went with Smith in most of my leagues, and left Wall in one of my gpps.
Pete,
Apologize for not getting back to you sooner but I would have probably went with Smith last night. He ended up having a decent night, but his overall fantasy line was hampered by the blowout. Hope it worked out for you, and thanks for checking out dailyfantasysports.org
